A Comparative Study for Selecting AI Academic Assistant

Abstract
 No one can deny the role of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in our lives. AI is generally defined as the intelligence of machines or software. 
A large language model (LLM) is a type of AI program that can recognize and generate text, among other tasks.
Many examples of AI LLMs that use Natural Language Processing (NLP) have been developed to help and support users. As these models are trained on massive amounts of text data and are able to generate human-like text, answer questions.
The problem is how to choose between these tools .Choosing between models causes confusion and is time-consuming in order to use the most useful one as a work assistant. The aim of the paper is to help students and instructors to choose an efficient AI academic assistant. The paper applied a case study by using two popular tools, which are Poe and ChatGPT-3. The study tested their capabilities in analyzing, coding, and building knowledge by application to a database academic course. Poe and ChatGPT’s answers have been compared and evaluated.  Results proved the power of the two tools with the excellence of Poe over the ChatGPT. The study also showed that the results of the two tools should be reviewed and not trusted one hundred percent.
